I was called back by the manager the following Monday as a pre-screen, and then said they wanted to do a phone interview with me and that I would be contacted by HR to work out the details. The HR representative contacted me on that Friday with an application form for a pre-screen, and then called to schedule the phone interview the following Monday and scheduled an interview for Thursday. They said they only wanted to interview me by phone because they figured I was busy, being a college student and all. Phone interview lasted an hour, but mainly because I asked a lot of questions. The interview was done as a conference call with the manager who originally contacted me and an associate of hers. They mentioned over the phone that there were 2 such positions with the same requirements. The interview was straight forward and was entirely behavioral questions with some simple "Are you familiar with XYZ programming language?" type questions, nothing technical whatsoever. They will not even consider you unless you're qualified, so you aren't asked those kinds of questions, especially as an intern. At the same time, I had applied to another company in the area, and they got me an interview 2 weeks later. 2 weeks after my interview, I interviewed with this other company, and was told I should be getting an offer from them soon. I immediately told the original manager at LM that I was being drafted an offer by this other company, and was given an offer within an hour by email, marked urgent. The only way to get an expedited response is if you have competing offers. Without even telling LM what my pay would have been at this other company, they beat it and offered to pay some of my rent, so I took the offer.
