I applied and was rejected automatically within about 12 hours of applying. I thought nothing of it until I got a message from the recruiter saying it was a mistake and to answer some preliminary questions. Sent them off and didn't hear back. Had to email the recruiter about 2 more times to get a response and solidify an interview.
Day of the interview, the recruiter no call no shows. I email them, I call them, I text them, nothing. I get a response back about an hour later with a "sorry! what time's a good time to call back". They ghost me again, not responding to any of the times I propose. Finally, after hours of waiting, I got ahold of them.
They started our interview with "What can I do for you?". .........(idk interview me?? for the position you asked me to interview for??) they proceeded to talk about how the job is NOT REAL and they are ONLY SCOPING FOR FUTURE POTENTIAL WORK. They then ask me how long I've been at a company THAT I NEVER WORKED FOR. They didn't even have MY RESUME in front of them. When I asked for more info on the position, they said "IDK the hiring manager wont get back to me and I've ALREADY SUBMITTED ALL THESE PEOPLE I hope they don't make me "THROW OUT THE CANDIDATE POOL AND START OVER".
By this time, I am absolutely floored with this persons lack of professionalism and ability to do their only job, interview a candidate. I pretty much get off the call and my hopes are smashed. I follow up and sure enough after two more emails they tell me I was disqualified for the role.
Its companies and people like this that leave the worst impression on people. I was never given a fair chance.
It's one thing to reject me, It's another to reject me, take it back, then ignore me, and belittle me all at once. I hope anyone applying for their tech sector reads this and passes on the opportunity to be completely used by a bad company.
