      Pros

Proactive Leadership focusing on quality of life benefits for employee. Meditation, Education, Mental health awareness, Financial education, etc. They did a really good job of communicating and managing during the height of the COVID pandemic.

      Cons

None that I can think of at this time.

      Leidos Dev/Eng Teams

      15 Mar 2023 - Senior Software Engineer

      Pros

Work Culture within teams are usually very good.

      Cons

Work Culture between teams and greater company reachback is terrible. Annual pay increases are low and performance evaluation is non-reflective of effort expended causing many to leave each February/March and people leaders are inadequately trained and/or informed to deal with performance evaluation in the first place.

      Pros

Good benefits, flexible schedule and PTO

      Cons

Federal employees permitted to verbally abuse contractors with zero support from management. Easily the most hostile, toxic work environment I ever experienced. One long nightmare

Compensation and Titling Structure Needs Overhaul

      2 Feb 2023 - Senior Subcontract Administrator

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Work from home opportunities. Corporate discounts on hotels, rental cars, etc.

      Cons

Company is not loyal to long term employees. I was a 15+ year employee who was promised a promotion 3 times in 12 months. Each time right before the promotion was to go in effect a different "policy" was sited on why I needed to "just wait a little longer" and continue to chase the moving carrot. 45+ hour work weeks are expected. People text, call, email and expect responses all hours of the day including weekends. Need to take a call from the sidelines of your child's soccer game on a Sunday; just make sure you are on there. I fought for what I deserved which was a salary increase and promotion and was constantly told "this is the best we can do." Then after I leave the company I find out coworkers who I was expected to train made $10-15K more than me.

      Pros

Lots of intelligent people to learn from, performance-based compensation, and a good amount of leading edge tech to work with.

      Cons

Government-based work holds things back/behind. Base pay should be a little higher.

      Pros

The team were all welcoming, forward thinking and extremely professional. There is massive scope for professional/self improvement via provided educational opportunities. The company understands the pressures veterans face during their transition into civilian life. You are given scope to use initiative and investigate your ideas.

      Cons

I believe our information/knowledge management could be improved. This could be something as simple as tidying up shared areas and creating a more effective record/archive system so we know which documents are still work in progress and the most up-to-date version. One version of the truth! We need to be more proactive in our processes and methodologies. Everybody is so busy that it is very easy to slip into a daily routine where you're either producing or fire fighting. We need to ensure that there is time to review, reflect and improve.
