I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at HackerRank (Palo Alto, CA) in May 2018
Interview
The interview process began with two phone screens, a remote technical assessment, and then an onsite interview. The onsite interview consisted of interviews with different memebers of the executive team, lead engineer, and panel of HackerRank employees.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at HackerRank (Palo Alto, CA) in Sept 2017
Interview
Coding challenge of there site followed by a 30 minute phone screen, and then a 45 minute algorithm question over the phone. No coding, just discussing the approach.
I got called for an onsite interview where I met my future PM, then a coding challenge with one of the engineers on the team. The question was ambiguous and unclear at the start, but I feel like part of the test was gauging my ability to communicate, express uncertainty, and understand the needs of the assignment. This makes sense since the role was mostly customer facing.
They were both mildly challenging and very relevant to the role.
Then a 30 minute meeting with an executive who was overseeing the team.
Got a call back for a meeting with the CEO/values team, was asked to list a series of questions about prior work experiences probing around my ability to model said company values (available on their website).
Didn't get an offer back, but I believe there was a misunderstanding about how technical vs. sales the role was supposed to be from the jump.
