      Finance Interview

      27 Mar 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Gusto (Los Angeles, CA) in Feb 2023

      Interview

2nd round took 5 hours with four employees; back to back, I felt a bit of a hostile environment with upper management, not employees, and had no work-life balance. Seems like they have quite a bit of a turnaround and running on a hamster wheel.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Skills Assessment Examples of how you've been able to help your teams, how you manage your time well, how you've helped customers through resolving an issue, etc, asking about difficult things that you've had to work really hard for, how you've been able to successfully share tough feedback with teammates and how you hold teams accountable. Think about operational best practices and what they mean to you - how would you describe operational excellence in the realm of Risk Assessment teams? And how do you personally drive operational excellence? Cross-functional CollaborationNico is going to ask questions about working with people that are not directly on your team, how do you communicate effectively, share feedback and ideas, how do you create those working relationships and make them effective. Be ready in each of your calls with examples of how your answers came to be, as Nico will also ask questions about sharing examples of when you had to ask for help or information outside of your direct team - how did you find success in this?
