I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Guitar Center (Edina, MN) in Feb 2014
Interview
Preliminary skills assessment online, with cursory follow-up interview by phone with the store manager. Skills assessment covered knowledge of products and technical details, even in areas that were not part of my scope or focus. Areas covered were in guitar, drums, keyboards, and pro audio. In addition, some basic psychological screening related to ethical decisions and honesty were presented. Easy question and answer session, in-person, one-on-one with store mgr followed the phone interview..
Well thought out interview pretty easy, I thought it went well but didn't get offered a position. I still feel like they are a good company although I heard they changed there commission structure in the past few years.
Simple and to the point. They want to know if you fit into the company culture. They also want to know what your skill set is as far as musical ability. It is very easygoing and relaxed

Interview
Felt like I was being interrogated or discriminated against, as if this were an important career. Dude, you hire high school students. Give me a break. Avoid applying to guitar center.
