DO NOT PROCEED WITH INTERVIEWING UNTIL YOU GET CONFIRMATION OF SALARY RANGE BY MULTIPLE SOURCES
I was reached out to by a recruiter who gave me incorrect information about the salary range. I was not provided with the accurate salary range until I had already spent many hours on phone screens, interviews, and a coding test.
My process:
Recruiter screening (with inflated salary quote)
1st Zoom interview with 2 engineers.
2nd zoom interview with 2 engineers.
Take home code test.
Invited to in-person office visit/interview.
At the time of the invite to in-person visit was when I was informed the first salary range I was told in writing via a LinkedIn message from a recruiter, was incorrect. I told them I would only proceed if the salary range for the job was what I was originally told. They came back to me and said they would not be able to provide the salary I was first given. So I declined to proceed any further.
