I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Gap in Jul 2009
Interview
I stopped into a local store and asked for an application. When I turned it back in, I asked if there was a manager I could speak to. We chatted a bit about what I was looking for and eventually set up an interview. It was one-on-one and very relaxed. He asked typical questions like why GAP, what do I know about the brand, etc.
Group interview with other candidates with the store manager. Arrive at the store and wait for other candidates. Then interview happens in break room and it lasted roughly about 30-60minutes
It was a group interview of about 10-12 people. If I remember correctly they take you to the back, the stock room, and ask almost everyone the same question. The interview lasted about 30 minutes.
It was very easy, one in person interview with the general manager and then I was accepted! Mainly personality and behavioral questions were asked, and I think enthusiasm on my end helped the most.
