The recruiter is able to articulate roles expectations well and upfront with remuneration. The role was advertised/applied as AM however it was offered as AE, not sure if remuneration differs between both, the selling type weights more on farming for AM vs AE. Not sure the standard industry bench mark for AE as for someone more than 10 yrs experience it is on the low side (30%), and I wonder how long it take to reach that gap. I wonder if the perceived great culture with good ratings/reviews on Glassdoor will make up the opportunity cost (30% x N years). It’s going to make attracting the right talent tough
- given they deal with various LOB and c level audience.
- as sales it is natural want to maximize our earning power in the given amount of time. I cannot decide if the remuneration is the deal point or trade point until I proceed to 2nd or 3rd interview and final round.
First round of interview is to test how well one know about the company. A lot of emphasis on customer centered era and is one of the keyword they look for in speaking with candidates, it seems you can get brownie points by echoing the exact same term published on their website.
Interestingly the hiring manager made a sweeping statement that industry knowledge of target audience is NOT too difficult given they put great attention to age of customer. I do agree with the know how in mapping of the audience challenges with Forrester solution and comfortable / confident in engaging C level is crucial.

Interviews felt very serious, minus one laid-back Director and Manager. Not the most welcoming environment. Smart team though. Salary range they offered was good. Directors appreciated STAR format answers and good questions.
