      Anonymous interview candidate
      Tel Aviv-Yafo
      No offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Fireblocks (Tel Aviv-Yafo) in Jan 2025

      Interview

The two interviewers were very nice, they asked about my previous job and past projects. Then they asked questions mainly focused on understanding and knowledge of programming. There weren't really any code questions, but later there was also a coding question about synchronization with many readers and one writer.

      Question 1

They wanted me to tell how a virtual function works exactly, and the wanted me to tell what is the final output of a given simple code (based on a virtual functions). Also, they wanted me to implement a Locker class for a many readers, single writer problem.

      Interview

First I've had a phone call with the hiring manager, then a technical interview with him and a developer in the team. After that there was home assignment followed by a call to explain the solution I had. Lastly on the technical side there was an interview with the group lead. The last interview was HR.

      Interview

I interviewed for the Professional Services team. The entire process took a bit more than a month and a half. I had an interview with the HR and the VP, and after, was told that there are other candidates being interviewed so the process will take at least a week and a half more. After a week, I got a message from the recruiter asking me for availabilities for another HR interview, I replied but she ignored me for few days after. Then she called to say that they would like to skip the other HR interview and continue straight to references and offer. She took all my details for the contract, and the team lead already called to tell me that about his expectations, and then, after the reference calls, they decided they needed a more senior candidate. I find it unlikely that my reference calls failed me. This was one of the most unprofessional processes I've ever went through and a lot of aggravation.
