I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at FINN in Nov 2023
Interview
A prescreening/behavioral video call with an HR person followed by a take home assignment. It all felt outdated and detached. I had read reviews and knew what to expect so the rejection disappointment was minimal.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The prescreening video call included your basic behavioral questions. The take home coding assignment was open-ended and took a significant amount of my time.

Interview
I had a great experience with the hiring process at FINN. The recruiter was very responsive, transparent and kept me informed every step of the way. It is true that there are 1-2 more steps in the process compared to other startups. However, I was amazed at how little time it took: from the first interview to the offer, only 2 weeks passed, which is really quick.
The hiring process includes 4 steps:
- Call with the recruiter: Behavioral questions + administrative topics.
- Coding assignment: in my case, write a "clone" of a popular application (not the whole thing of course, the scope is limited in the task description).
- technical interview: includes discussion of the task and technical questions about the company's stack. the environment in this call was friendly and supportive.
- final interview with supervisor and product manager (culture fit).
