Application
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Dell Technologies (Round Rock, TX) in Jan 2011
Interview
Was already working at Dell as a contractor; submitted resume in response to internal job posting. A week or so later, I was contacted by HR consultant who held the screening interview and set up following interviews. A few weeks after that, I had a phone interview with the hiring manager who lives in Europe. Followed with phone interviews with employees who would be my teammates. There was a long delay (2 months) with no news while the position was officially approved - explained by the HR consultant who did not contact me but finally responded to my several calls and emails asking about the status. Shortly after that, I got an offer from the HR consultant.
Interview
Phone screening followed by in-person interviews. 4-5 interviews with folks from same or related teams. Questions are usually pretty standard - mix of questions around your resume and situational "tell me about" questions to test your background as well as your skills.

Question 1

Interview
Got a call for an interview in the afternoon, after submitting CV in the morning. Interviewee was nice, went for about 30 minutes. General background of what the role was, and what functions you needed to perform, and then some questions about why Dell, and what its competitive advantage was. What direction you wanted to head in (general fit questions)
