The team I interviewed with set the bar high for other companies interviewing processes , overall it was a positive experience even though I did not get the job. Here is why:
1) Recruiter was fantastic, first time I really felt like she was on my side. Communicated, advocated, championed for me to be successful by ensuring I fully knew role, people I was interviewing with, and what they were looking for. I wish I could say her name but I don't think that would be professional but she deserves to be recognized for her hard work.
2) Hiring manager was upfront and real, was able to relate to him and he was able to relate to me. He asked "real" questions about my qualifications and how I could use my experience to help him achieve what he was wanting to do. None of that BS interview questions other companies do - they were actually real questions.
3) Here is the reason why I am so impressed with the process, the hiring manager called me directly and let me know I didn't get the job. Talk about professional! That is someone I want to work for who takes ownership and follows through. So impressive because of this one additional step. Again, wish I could say his name but I can't because he too deserves recognition for representing Cox so well.
Well done Cox in your hiring practices, other companies could learn from you.
