The strangest interview experience of my life. Thought it would be worth leaving a review. 3 months ago, I did 5 rounds with team members who all really liked me (per the recruiter, plus the interviews went great). They tell me at the end that unfortunately, they're temporarily taking down the role due to changes in the org. I'm disappointed, because I thought it was a good opportunity, but I say okay, if I'm still looking please reach out then. They reach out after a month. Say the role is open, and will report to someone else. I do 3 more rounds, all of which go really well (last one was with a C-suite employee). At the end, they say "sorry to repeat history, but we're closing the position again". At this point I feel like the whole thing was some sort of a weird, time consuming prank? No organization in history is ever this ridiculously set up right? Like why would you keep opening a position, waste your time and the candidates interviewing for it, and shut it down again multiple times? I told them not to contact me again, and feel like I dodged a bullet.
