      Assistant Store Manager/Team Manager Interview

      1 Jan 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Co-op in Nov 2016

      Interview

Applied online, got an email to arrange telephone interview for 20-30 min which lasted 30min. Passed telephone stage and asked to come into store for 121 interview after 7 days. Driven 40 min to get to interview location. The arrangement was with an Area Manager but when got there a Store Manager interviewed me with a note taker or scorer based on competency/behavioural/Team Management/Leadership/Company Business etc. This stage lasted an hour and started without letting you settle in or relax even though I got there 15 min earlier. So not a pleasant start and straight after sitting in a tiny room went to questioning. The requirement was to provide proof of right to work or otherwise interview would not take place but to my surprise I was not even asked for this till before I was about to leave after interview. So I thought this was just an exercise as the process did not seem to me as one which was an honest recruiting interview but just to fill the slot. I was told that I will hear from them in 2 days. I waited 5 days to recieve an email saying to wait further 2 days. Than weeks passed and no feed back or outcome despite requesting for it a couple of times with at least a weeks gap. Really frustrating for me after putting in so much effort and performing well at the interview where the manager seemed impressed too but with zero outcome. At least a feedback should have been given. SHAME I guess!

I'm sorry to hear you had a poor interview experience. I hope you asked the recruitment team for feedback from the team who interviewed you. ^Catherine
