I applied for the position on their website. I was contacted by an HR rep and was asked to come in for an interview. When I arrived, the HR rep had me fill out an application which included employment history (even though it was on my resume), various other information, and salary history/requirements.
Then I met with the hiring manager and we discussed my experience in college and what I could bring to the company. They asked why I wanted to work there and where I would want to be in 5 years. I was then brought over to a computer and asked to do a few advanced things in Excel. I was able to do some of it, but not all of it. I thought that meant that I had a small chance of a second interview, but I was wrong, I guess a lot of people fail the skills test.
After a couple weeks, I received a call from the group supervisor who would be working with me and making a recommendation to the hiring manager. I came in and was brought to the cafeteria where we sat down and talked pretty informally about what I did in school and how I work with others.
The next day, I received a call from the HR manager and was told that they were offering me the position. Since, this was an entry level position, there was no room for negotiation, although, I didn't try very hard.
