      Associate Consultant Interview

      5 Mar 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Capco (New York, NY) in Sept 2011

      Interview

Applied and was contacted by recruiter and after speaking with two consultants on the phone was invited to NY office for in person interviews. Arrived to find there were about 15 other candidates that were to be interviewed. Receptionist was nice and offered beverages before getting started. Went into room with other candidates where we were given brief overview before splitting into individual interviews. I interviewed with three consultants - two were friendly and I had good rapport with them. The other interviewer was a bit unprofessional with his questions and seemed more concerned with getting under my skin that getting to know me. The next week I was notified I would not continue to the next (and final) round. When speaking with the other candidates I was surprised to find some had 2+ years of work experiences and a few with Masters as I was under the impression it was an entry-level role (I am a 2011 grad) which could have played a factor in not being extended an offer.

      2 Jun 2026
      Anonymous employee
      London, England
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Capco (London, England) in May 2026

      Interview

The recruitment process felt genuinely well thought out compared to other firms I interviewed with. The initial video interview involved four experience-based questions and one case study style question which gave a real taste of what the role involves. From there, the in-person assessment centre was intense but energising. You are in a group of up to nine candidates with senior consultants observing throughout, working through a real FS case study and an individual task. The people I met were engaged and clearly invested in finding the right fit rather than just ticking boxes. Dan in recruitment was brilliant throughout and kept me informed at every stage

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

In the individual task, I was given four emails from different stakeholders and asked to prioritise them in order of priority and urgency.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capco (London, England)

      Interview

I applied for data consulting role. Overall smooth interview process. There was one SJT type online assessment, one technical case study which was presented to a senior/principal consulting, and the final interview was with a principal/managing principal consultant. Overall pretty generic process.
