I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Black Propeller (San Diego, CA)
Interview
Interview was fairly simple, did a 30-minute live video interview. The questions were mostly straightforward and I seemed to get along well with the interviewer, the Director of SEO.
At the end of the interview, he mentioned he would get back to me within a week to update on the status. A few days more than a week went by, so I e-mailed him to check on an update. Then I e-mailed a week after that, still with no update.
Overall, the interview itself was fine. But them not replying to me is where I draw the line. I don't tolerate that and to me, it demonstrates a lack of maturity.
Initial interview was with Head of Paid Media, general questions validating cultural fit and high level technical questions. This was followed by a panel interview of 8 production members. Questions were fired off at random touching all aspects of paid media. They reached out mentioning they were interested in hiring me, only to be told they are now looking for someone to manage ecomm accounts with 1000+ skus. (This was not part of the scope of work in the original position) Subsequently after 6 weeks of back and forth, and being told the agency lost clients and weren’t in a position to hire any longer I decided to go with a different agency. From the reviews it appears this isn’t the first time a candidate went through a full interview process only to have to role taken down. I would question the true health and stability of this agency.
Ghosted. Interviewed with the Director of Media of the company, and over the span of the next 3 weeks he cut all communication with no reasoning. It's odd because you don't expect that lack of communication from someone leading a team, this would only be telling of the company itself.
