      Interview

      ### Interview Process **Round 1: Recruiter Screening** * Discussed my background, experience, salary, relocation and interest in the role. * Covered the team, position, and interview process. **Round 2: Hiring Manager Screening** * Focused on my previous projects, technical experience, and problem-solving approach. * Included discussion around my impact, responsibilities, and relevant technologies. **Round 3: Technical Interview (45 minutes)** The interview consisted of two parts: 1. **Coding Exercise** * Solved an easy matrix-based LeetCode-style problem. * Focused on problem-solving, code quality, and communication. 2. **AI-Assisted React Development** * Implemented a React feature using an AI-assisted coding environment. * Evaluated on React fundamentals, implementation approach, and effective use of AI tools. **Outcome** * The next stage of the process was a System Design interview. * Unfortunately, I did not advance beyond the technical round.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Autodesk

      Interview

1 - Hiring manager - your experience and goals 2 - Behavioral and coding 3 - Experience with AWS 4 - cultural round Overall I really liked the position and the team. Had a feeling that I passed all rounds and everything went well. Unfortunately, they hired someone else. What I didn’t like was that the whole process took almost 1.5 months. Also recruiters are not very responsive and not organized. Asked for a feedback - nothing.

      Interview

Stage 1: Hiring Manager interview My first interview was with Mariella. She was very kind, explained the process clearly, and was very helpful throughout the different stages. Stage 2: Technical assessment The second stage was a technical assessment. The instructions mentioned that it should take around one hour to complete. Stage 3: Technical review After that, I had an interview with Fabrizio, where we reviewed what I had done in the technical assessment. He was very friendly, easy to talk to, and gave off very good vibes. Overall, this part of the process was very positive. Stage 4: System design interview The final stage was the system design interview, and this is where the experience became uncomfortable. The interview was with Chris, and it was the only interview in the process that was not recorded. From the beginning, the atmosphere felt strange—not necessarily hostile, but definitely uncomfortable and not very welcoming. During the interview, there was no positive feedback at any point, and the attitude felt quite apathetic. Overall, it was a poor experience, especially compared to the previous stages. Overall experience: In general, the process was good, especially the first stages with Mariella and Fabrizio. However, the last interview was a negative experience and affected my overall perception of the process.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

The technical challenge was based on designing or implementing a parking lot system. The main focus was on how to manage the parking lot logic, including availability, vehicle handling, and the overall structure of the solution.

      Question 2

The system design exercise was based on designing a platform similar to Booking.com, with a strong focus on how the system connects with multiple hotel APIs. The most important part of the discussion was the integration with those external APIs, including: - How to connect with different hotel providers. - What happens if one or more APIs fail. - How to keep hotel data available and updated. - How to handle the booking process across external systems. - How to recover from failures during the reservation flow. - How to structure the database schema to support the system. The key focus was not only the database design, but especially the reliability and handling of the external hotel API integrations.
