I applied online and a few days later, I was asked to self-schedule the phone interview. The process seemed efficient and even offered a weekend slot. However, the recruiter was disinterested, trying to get as many questions as possible in 30 min, and did not let me ask questions. Couple days after the phone interview, I was asked to fill an online application saying that the hiring manager will review it. Within a day, I was told that the company will not proceed. I wonder why the application was needed if there was no interest in proceeding. All the relevant details were already provided in the initial application and later to the recruiter. Also, if the company wants to get great candidates, they need to show more interest in the individual instead of sending the recruiters who work like call centers - trying to fit more calls in given time.
