I applied to the job through Glassdoor . I got a call from ARM within a week. A F2F interview was scheduled. There were around 20 candidates with me . The Interviewers were calm and gave enough time for the candidates to explain. I had 3 technical rounds, 1 Hiring manger round and 1 HR round.
First round - The interviewer asked me to introduce myself. My responsibility in the project i am currently working on. After that he asked me few puzzles.
1. There are two ropes of unequal length. one will burn in 1 hour and the other in 30 mins. I need to measure 45 minutes using these 2 ropes. ( easy one- burn both ropes on both sides 30+15 mins)
2. Matchstick problem . pattern is 5008. move 2 matchsticks to make the largest number possible ( easy one 81105!)
3. C programs on fibonacci series, prime number, array sorting and factorial
It went for 1 hour
Second round- this round is more challenging. He asked me about Assembly level coding, microprocessors, CPU architecture, Instruction cycles, cache memory, college project, Counters, k maps, adders, MUX, flip flops,linked list, seven segment display using gates etc
It went for 2 hours
Free lunch was served
Third round- Back to logical puzzles. Now little big ones!!
1. 25 horses, 1 race can have 5 horses. How many races are needed to find the top 3 horses?
2. 2 candles, both burn for 1 hour each. measure 1 hour 30 mins(similar to rope problem)
3. xyz+xyz+xyz= zzz . find x,y,z (easy one 185+185+185=555)
Hiring manager round- He explained me about ARM culture, How the company is growing enormously, challenges in the team i will face, my interests about the company and the role i am applying for, difficulties faced in my current company, coping up with challenges etc
it went for 45 minutes
HR round- Just a small conversation for 15 minutes. Offers in hand, notice period, compensation.
I already had offers in 5 service based companies(L&T,wipro, mindlance, waferspace, Altran,) and 1 product based company ( Qualcomm).
I opted ARM. Because of the work culture, the kind of technology i will be working on!!!
One final word- Amazing company to be with!!!!!
Overall process from interview to offer release will take 2 weeks
