I applied in-person. I interviewed at Apple (London, England)
Interview
The internal recruiter got in touch with me via LinkedIn & it seemed from the conversation that they were really stretched to find people who fit all of the categories. However, I fit one important category which was what they were focusing on. It seemed like there was a decent chance and it would have been a great opportunity so I decided to go for a face-to-face interview.
Everyone was very pleasant and friendly. My one complaint would be that the interviewer didn't seem to have studied my CV. He only looked at my last role, when most of the relevant experience was actually contained within my role BEFORE the last one. I kept trying to draw attention to my relevant experience but it was really difficult to get a word in edgewise.
It was a pleasant conversation, but I felt I had little chance to actually speak, and to demonstrate my suitableness.
It was however, not nerve-wracking which is a good thing, and everyone did make me feel at ease and comfortable.
I received an email the Monday after (interview was Thursday) to basically say thanks but no thanks, which at least was prompt. However, I felt from the recruiter that they were struggling to find candidates, so perhaps that wasn't entirely the case..
