I got into the interview process through referral - Recruiter reached out and from the initial step I observed push back from the recruiter. Some more details about the interviewers and the process -
The interview was for EPM Security Compliance in Apple Services Engineering organization Austin, TX , and unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing—from the initial recruiter interactions through the panel interviews. Here is my experience /feedback to improve on process to Apple -
1) Only a small fraction of the interviewers—under 10%—were effective and worth the time.
2) Be intentional about who you include on interview panels. Having juniors with only 3–5 years of experience can be challenging—many are still learning how to conduct effective interviews, and it shows when they appear overwhelmed by the process or let attitude get in the way.
3) Some senior interviewers also need improvement. For example, one Senior Manager spent 22 of a 30-minute slot asking only “Why Apple,” and seemed dissatisfied/dismissive with any response I gave. That approach conveyed disinterest and added little value to the assessment. A more balanced, thoughtful conversation would create a better candidate experience and yield more meaningful insights for both sides.
4) Recruiter is neither available nor responsive through out the process
