I received an email from the manager of the store inviting me to a seminar. I had replied with questions, but he ignored them. I ended up attending anyway, and it was huge a commute. When I arrived at the apple store, though the interview took place in a community room in the mall, I had no idea where it was. I was told that someone would walk me and another person to the community room, so I ended up late. There was a huge group of people, and what threw me off was that you had to to stand up in front of everyone, introduce yourself and were asked why you wanted to work for apple. I was honest, a bit too honest and said I was new to Mac products but was open and wanting to branch out.
The managers didn't look very professional. They had on apple shirts if not graphic t-shirts and jeans. They had us sit through a video, have a q&a, and then split up into groups. I was still nervous, because even though they seemed laid back, it was still an interview. They gave me a false impression that I would be fit for the position, and they'd be open to people who were new to Apple. I got a rejection email, and I was devastated.
