      Network Security Specialist Interview

      6 Aug 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Tampa, FL
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amgen (Tampa, FL) in Jun 2018

      Interview

Standard interview process: a screening round, two technical interviews over the phone, then one final on site. The reason im giving them a negative is for the following: -I received a verbal offer, including the link to start filling in background check information along with when i would need to put my 2 weeks notice (including specific dates supplied by Amgen, one of which was that same day as verbal offer). The following day, they revoked the verbal offer citing HR policy on years of experience needed. Its disappointing to see such arcane HR policies still in effect, especially in a field where there are not many qualified candidates. TLDR Drop years of experience as a hard requirement, if the technical team throughly vetter my qualifications and technical acumen, why should HR be able to supercede that
