Had a recruiter reach out to me via email for a role I never even applied to at Amazon. I was a bit surprised on this, as I never even applied at the role in the email.
Signed an NDA, but definitely a terrible process to say the least. The cloud support associate/engineer positions they have open relate to Security, Networking, Windows, Storage, and a bunch of other specialties. My resume specifically relates more to a System Admin/Security role, and they wished for me to take an assessment test on Networking.
The recruiter was a bit all over the place, wanting me to take the assessment ASAP, even though the original email stated I had 1 week to take the exam. I had other commitments and plans to take care of at the time, and I couldn't just drop everything and take their assessment.
It seemed the technical part of the assessment I failed. I felt confident on the rest of the questions AWS was looking for. I was disappointed with their lack of reading my resume and concerns. The recruiter definitely did not follow the 14 leadership principles that Amazon talks so highly of.
