Great initial interview with the recruiter, 50% focused on the job expectations with some questions about my background and how I met them, and 50% focused on comp, hybrid work, etc. Next interview was with two people from the hiring team. They went directly into Leadership Principles questions, and because anyone who interviews at Amazon should be expecting this, I found it relatively straightforward to answer. Following the interview, the recruiter got back to me the next day and said that the feedback from the interview team was great! However, they felt I was too senior for the role and would be better suited to a more senior one. The recruiter also shared that there was an internal candidate who had completed the interview loop and that they would probably offer this role to that person. She agreed to reach out to me with other, more senior-level roles.
