it was a lengthy process, started pretty well, but after my final round was already scheduled, they told me last minute they found a candidate internally. did not feel my time was respected

Long - but the recruiter was always quick to respond with a few days after each point of contact. After a few phone screens you move to a day of multiple interviews back-to-back.
