      Executive Assistant Interview

      29 Jan 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (New York, NY) in Jan 2021

      Interview

I first got a phone call from an HR recruiter, he basically ran through the steps of how the interview works. It’s 2 phone calls and then an additional 5 hours worth of interviews If you make it through those phone calls. Someone is randomly chosen to do your first phone interview, you may or may not be working with this person. All questions have to be answered in STAR method. They live and breathe the STAR method. I must have studied and practiced and came up with all sorts of scenarios for hours to prepare for this interview. My phone interview lasted an hour and a half or so with an EA. She was friendly and really just asked question after question which I provided all answers to and was fully prepared. Being that the interview lasted that long, I thought I did well because she really could’ve ended the interview at any point and just stopped asking questions after 15 minutes but she kept going. It’s really an enormous amount of pressure and not easy at all. I’m unsure what they were looking for after I answered the questions in STAR format, and kept me on the phone for so long, but I did not get a second phone interview. What I would really like to know is what the feedback was and where exactly I went wrong as constructive criticism after spending so much time on the phone.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Amazon

      Interview

Went through phone screening and never heard back even after reaching out to recruiter. It was unusual since they are usually quick on notifying you. I've went through a few interviews with them in the past.
