      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon (New York, NY) in Aug 2021

      Interview

First time to go to the final stage of interviews and finish it without an HR calling me to explain the process. What the interviews onsite virtual interviews consists of ?  What is expected from me? You don't know about the salary range or like the company knows my notice period. nothing at all happened.  I have done interviews with big companies before, but didn't see this attitude before even small companies. Very poor communication between candidates and the company a lot (bad indicator to join the company). For the on-site virtual interviews, They were good,no comments except there was no one asked about any coding skills, which is very important skill even the position will not need to code I have taken a decision not to apply again, they treated candidates in very bad way, I didn't like that.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

These questions i couldn't answer What's stickybit, nsswitch file, process creation explain it to me And other normal Linux questions

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Aug 2021

      Interview

I applied for this position, and within a day or two I got a link to complete an online assessment. The online assessment had 2 portions: technical systems and networking questions and behavioral questions. The technical questions were not too hard, if you have IT experience. Then, after passing that, i had a technical phone interview over the phone. This one was a little harder, but still passable if you have network, operating system experience. Then, after passing this interview, i interviewed with 4 more people in on-site virtual interview. 2 of the interviews were technical and 2 were behavioral. Overall, the technical interviews were basic Linux and networking questions. The behavioral ones were based on the STAR method. I can say I have both a bachelors and masters in computer science, and years of technical experience and apparently i did not make the cut. I was very polite in the interviews, and I thought the interviews went really well, so I am guessing these interviews are more "likeability tests", and they didnt like me, or they had to meet interview quotas and already knew who they were going to hire and wasted my time, since this is more of any entry level position. I can definitely say I will not be wasting my time interviewing for Amazon again. Too much work going through their interview process, for them to be wasting a bunch of applicants times.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What are inodes? How do you troubleshoot a slow LAMP server? How do you add a disk on a Linux VM? What command can you use to see a new disk on linux? lsblk Perfomance questions: top, htop, vmstat, sar, etc. ? A client reports that they cant log in to a Linux server, how do you troubleshoot?
