First interview with HR, asking for my professional experience, motivations/the reason i thought working at Altar would be suitable for me. Also explained the interview process ( 3 steps - interview with HR, technical interview and then interview with CEO)
I applied online. I interviewed at Altar.io in May 2023
Interview
Altar is quite transparent in its recruitment process, so I already had an idea of what to expect based on the steps mentioned in the job listing. They reached out soon after I submitted my application and scheduled the first interview. It was immediately established that it would be informal, focused on getting to know me better and understanding my expectations. Most of the conversation was in English, though it started and ended in Portuguese. The second phase was a technical interview. The Lead Front-End told me about the position and possible career progression in greater detail. Once the technical questions started, he let me explore and take my time to figure out the answers, being incredibly encouraging the entire time. The final interview with the CEO is a great chance to learn more about the company's history and what makes it different. Every question was original and focused on assessing how you think on your feet, if you are a good fit for the company, and vice-versa. They always made sure to give feedback as soon as possible. The recruiter checked my availability before scheduling each interview, and everyone said I could contact them if I had any questions. Overall, I'd say everyone was surprisingly informal and warm, and I'd go as far as to say this was the most human interview process I've been through in my career.
