Pros
The interview process was pleasant and quick.
Cons
No training, difficult and unsupportive managers, felt like high school and the managers played favorites.
Pros
Some genuinely nice people with strong work ethics.
Cons
There is a seemingly intentional drive to provide as little support to store locations as possible, while constantly demanding more effort and more tasks be completed. Subpar compensation and wildly varying hours already make it difficult to retain existing team members, while a hiring process that arbitrarily discards potential new employees makes hiring new personnel difficult. There aren't enough people on staff to process the trucks or set planograms. There aren't enough people on staff to tend to customers. There aren't enough people of staff to deal with custom framing orders. And if there ARE enough people on staff, then their hours will be cut to an unsustainable degree.
Pros
-The one good thing was the hiring store manager was fine and was more flexible with the hours I required.
Cons
-hiring manager was never there -inadequate training -pay was way too low -unwarranted accusatory behavior from department manager
Pros
Flexible work schedule, ability to work on your own.
Cons
You are expected to do a multitude of other tasks, and still maintain a framing quota without a lot of help from your framer manager. During the interview process, the set salary for a part-time framer was $17-$19 but started at minimum wage. With the amount of work done over the past three years, there has not been a lot of increase in pay.
Pros
If you work hard and actually show up you get hours. Can get 401k and other benefits like tuition assistance.
Cons
The pay doesn’t reflect the amount of work that you do. Corporate is not hiring enough people so you’re rushing constantly during your shift.
Pros
* Companionable and accepting coworkers * Generally friendly and appreciative customers * a range of day-to-day job responsibilities that keeps things interesting and rewarding
Cons
* low compensation rates * poor execution of employee training policies * undervaluation of additional skills, training, expertise, and requirements for skilled labor jobs such as custom framing and replenishment compared to baseline associates * chronic understaffing issues caused by constricted scheduling and hiring policies * high staff turnover, resulting in little preservation of institutional knowledge * recurring supply shortages due to artificial budgetary restrictions * uneven quality control on custom frame materials shipped from central distribution * in-house frame design software suffers from a range of problems due to poorly implemented or missing features, unaddressed bugs, and fundamental design flaws
Pros
If you have good co-workers, then that's the pro
Cons
Pay, Upper management, workload, scheduling hours, hiring systems, phones, all equipment is useless and lots more
Pros
Really nice boss and co workers. Easy to learn and use systems.
Cons
Very fast paced. Within about a week of working there I was asked to train a new hire.
Pros
The other employees are great, even though they all dislike working here.
Cons
Pay-(i currently make $13/hr, well below the industry standard. And my store is currently offering $9 to new hires for my position. And they wonder why they haven't hired anyone new in the paat year.) The customers- I've worked in retail before, this is the worst group i have ever delt with. Benefits - or lack of Bonus - non existing Tips - maybe 1 out of every 100 customers might slip you something under the table. Hours- over worked, under paid. Dont get me started on the holiday hours. The sales - they are confusing and misleading, good luck trying to explain how they work to customers.
Pros
Company is open about supporting the LGBTQ+ community. For the most part they are flexible with scheduling and hours. Promotions are always around if you don’t mind changing stores The new health insurance is AMAZING and actually covers doctors and hospitals
Cons
Transfer/promotion process is a nightmare The corporate compensation department believes $1 is enough of a raise from PT employee to FT manager Never enough hours to fully staff the floor for all shifts Credit Card and Rewards pushes have made it much less of a fun job and more stressful for all involved
