West Technology Group, LLC (formerly known as Intrado Corporation), a global leader in technology enabled services, and Stonepeak, a leading alternative investment firm specializing in infrastructure and real assets, have completed the previously announced sale of Intrado’s Safety business, a market-leading provider of critical public emergency telecommunications services, to Stonepeak for $2.4 billion. The Intrado name and brand will transition with the Safety business; Intrado Corporation has rebranded its holding company to West Technology Group, LLC (“West”). “We are pleased to complete the sale of the Safety business to Stonepeak. We believe they are the right partners, as infrastructure investors, to help continue to grow and further the Safety business,” said John Shlonsky, President and Chief Executive Officer of West. “We are also excited about West’s future given the remaining assets of TeleVox, SchoolMessenger, Notified, and Mosaicx are all industry leaders in each market they serve.”

I didn't take the time to share this last week, but September marks 6 years since I began my journey at Intrado. (When I was hired, we were still calling ourselves Intercall!) I graduated in May 2014, spent the summer travelling, then began my job hunt. I knew I wanted to move to Portland - incredibly, to pursue a career as a professional actress (a story for a different time, lol). Because I'd spent 3 years in school working with the on-campus conferencing team, I decided to Google "conferencing jobs Portland," and the rest is history. I was hired and moved from Montana to Portland all in just a couple weeks. At the time, I remember going into training thinking "what the heck is all this stuff?" I had assumed that "conferencing" meant, like, scheduling rooms and moving tables. But I'm so glad I stuck with it. What started out as a means to an end turned into a career path I didn't see coming. I've come a long way from the wide-eyed 22-year-old who had never heard of WebEx. I can't wait to see where else this journey takes me.
