We are proud to announce another solid financial performance for Solvay this past quarter. Despite a challenging market environment, we have continued to stay resilient and adaptable, securing growth in critical areas and delivering on our commitments. Key highlights from Q3 2024: 1️⃣ Net Sales: Sequential volume improvement for the third consecutive quarter. 2️⃣ EBITDA: Reached €259M, stable year-on-year. 3️⃣ Free Cash Flow: A robust €74M in Q3 and €320M over the first nine months. 4️⃣ Sustainable Growth: In October, we launched our regenerative thermal oxidation (RTO) process at the Green River plant in the U.S., setting a new standard in the trona mining industry. Our continued investments, cost-saving initiatives, and focus on essential chemistry are preparing us for the future. Together, we are making strides towards a more sustainable and essential future.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Solvay’s re-establishment in the United States, a journey that began in 1974 with the acquisition of a high-density polyethylene plant in Deer Park, Texas. Under the leadership of Jacques Solvay, we grew from a single plant to a powerful industrial player across multiple sectors, from petrochemicals to pharmaceuticals. A few key milestones along the way: 🏆 1881: Our first U.S. plant opens in Syracuse, NY, pioneering soda ash production. 🏆 1974: Return to the U.S. with the acquisition of Celanese Corp’s polyethylene plant. 🏆 1992: Entered trona soda mining with the purchase of Tenneco Minerals. 🏆 2011: Strengthened presence with Rhodia and its 18 U.S. sites. 🏆 2013: Acquired Chemlogics, expanding into specialty chemicals for oil & gas. 🏆 2024: Completion of the largest GHG emissions reduction project yet, transforming U.S. Green River operations Today, with the 9 sites across the U.S. and a focus on sustainable innovations, we're proud to be a leader in soda ash, hydrogen peroxide, and highly dispersible silica—shaping a more sustainable future. Our "Control Boiler" project at the Paulínia, Brazil site is already making a significant impact. By modernizing control systems and optimizing steam production, we've managed to reduce natural gas consumption, resulting in a €800,000 annual savings and cutting 15,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year. This achievement highlights our commitment to Operational Excellence and sustainability, demonstrating that financial gains and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.
