10,000 helmets. 13 years. One commitment to safety. âď¸ Solvayâs commitment doesnât stop at our siteâs entrance. It extends directly into the communities where we live and work! Weâve reached a major milestone through the Siam Solvay Foundation, delivering over 10,000 high-quality helmets to students across Rayong. In a region where motorcycles are involved in over 80% of road incidents and helmet use among youth is alarmingly low, we launched the "Safety Life, Wear Helmets to School" project in 2013 to protect our most vulnerable neighbors. For over a decade, this initiative has been a long-term mission to foster a culture of safety and support the "Rayong 100% Helmet Policy." This is about more than just giving away equipment. It is about consistent, local action to protect the next generation. The impact of our decade-long dedication is clear. In the areas where we are active, we have seen a consistent decline in road-related fatalities among participating students, even as traffic density in this industrial hub continues to grow. We believe that every child deserves a safe journey to school, and we are honored to play a role in making that a reality.

On the Italian shoreline, Solvay is writing a new chapter in Silicaâs history. We have officially inaugurated Europeâs first bio-circular silica facility at our Livorno site - a major milestone in the transition to sustainable mobility. This new unit transforms rice husk ash (an agricultural byproduct) into highly dispersible silica (HDS) for energy-efficient tires. By skipping traditional, energy-intensive processes, we are: đ Reducing CO2 emissions by ~35% per ton. đž Increasing recycled and renewable content for tire manufacturers by up to 15%. đşď¸Setting the blueprint for Solvayâs global circular silica strategy as we begin converting our sites worldwide to use ISCCÂŽ PLUS* certified materials. A tire is the only part of a car that touches the road. By evolving the chemistry behind it, we are helping the industry reach the target of 40% recycled and renewable content by 2030 and stay ahead of upcoming regulations, such as the EU's Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). This is essential chemistry in motion.

To keep that engine running, we need young pioneers with the courage to experiment, test, and discover. đWe celebrated World Environmental Education Day through our partnership with XperiLA. By bringing a mobile laboratory directly to schools, XperiLAB empowers 10,000 children every year to become active creators rather than passive observers. The method behind the magic lies in stepping away from textbooks and entering a hands-on environment where students master the essential scientific process: observe, hypothesize, experiment, and deduce. âWhen you give a student the chance to create a new material or discover a new flavor, you put stars in their eyes. You are not just teaching a lesson. You are empowering future scientists and entrepreneurs who will innovate for a better life.
Rare earths are the heart of the energy transition, but chemistry is the missing link. At the Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh, our Special Chem President An Nuyttens explained that the real challenge is not only extraction but the complex chemistry needed to purify these metals. The industry is shifting from simple resource recovery to localized mid stream processing. This is where Solvay leads, since our unique separation expertise supports integrated and transparent value chains from the mine to the magnet.
