On this first week of Black History Month, SoCalGas Business Systems Analyst D.J. S. reflects on what this month means to him. “Black History Month is extremely important as it is an opportunity to pay homage and show appreciation for the experiences, sacrifices, and contributions of Black Americans past and present. Every year during Black History Month, my family and I take advantage of all the exciting events and celebrations taking place around SoCal. As a Black parent, it is extremely important for me to use every opportunity I can to share Black history with our five-year-old daughter so that she feels inspired and uplifted. In my professional life, one of the greatest things about working at SoCalGas is the various opportunities to give back to the community and our dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Whether it’s the company’s efforts in providing a sense of belonging or our commitment towards a sustainability goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2045, we are blazing a trail for future generations to come. I am proud to represent #BlacksInEnergy!”
