Planning IT strategy with the pandemic in the rear-view mirror has presented a two-pronged question to organizations. How does IT support the running of today’s business in the face of dynamic disruption while still transforming to adapt for the future? It’s a digital dilemma facing many organizations. In this InformationWeek article, #MicroFocus' Derek Britton covers the delicate art of balance that IT organizations are faced with today. #RunandTransform
"Technology devices don’t just work by themselves. They need someone to run it,” says Jessica, 22. “Why not girls?” In Rwanda, just 5.1% of young women use the internet. 19% of the young women surveyed are unaware of internet services at all. This enormous gap in connectivity and use translates to major data gaps when relying on digital data collection, leaving a void of understanding of the needs and lived experiences of girls and young women. With the help of a UNICEF-funded programme, Jessica works on filling these data gaps by conducting interviews and collecting data on issues affecting her peers, such as teen pregnancy, HIV/AIDS, and sexual health. The information Jessica collects helps her better understand and communicate the challenges girls face and their inspired solutions for how to solve them. As part of #MicroFocusINSPIRE, we are proud to support UNICEF, which continues to help all children and young people realise their right to learn, reimagine education and help create a brighter, more equal world.
