The Western Canada Pro Hockey Scouts organization partnered with Matrix to create a unique “Wall of Honour” celebrating the often-unsung heroes of pro hockey, the scouts. The solution features a flexible, future-ready Absen KL II 1.5mm LED video wall, designed to recognize initial inductees while allowing for new names to be added over time, all within a compact 3600mm x 1920mm footprint. A mural space below completes the final installation. An AV over IP upgrade was delivered under the leadership of Mario Sergio Stehling Melo, CTS, PSNI SAS, improving reliability and performance for a municipal council chambers environment. A legacy system with slow switching and instability was replaced with a MuxLab-based solution, featuring a seamless switcher, 7 encoders, and 7 decoders for smooth layout transitions. The upgraded system now enables seamless switching between speakers, presentations, wide shots, and remote guests across streaming and internal displays. Matrix Video Communications Corp. delivered a full AV upgrade for Ambrose University in Calgary, Alberta, led by Les Enser. Four classrooms were equipped with dual camera systems, Crestron Electronics control, and 85” displays to support modern teaching and learning. In the main lobby, a 138” Absen LED display (1.58mm pixel pitch) was installed. With 600 nits brightness, it delivers a bright, clear image even in a space with lots of natural light from large east-facing windows.
