This year, we have tried something different to showcase our purpose and beliefs. We’ve introduced The Kent Chronicle, our very own newspaper, designed to tell the stories of our people, projects and progress in 2025. Packed with a mix of serious updates and light-hearted features, The Kent Chronicle includes: 🏆 Acquisitions, awards and milestones from across our global operations 🌍 Our safety and sustainability efforts, and more about the people behind them 🧩 Plus an insight into Life at Kent, a surprisingly tricky crossword, sports updates, and even a tongue-in-cheek obituaries section honouring the things we happily left behind in 2025. Our Kent Canada team worked with the JGC/Fluor BC LNG Joint Venture to deliver a multi-phase campaign covering construction, commissioning, and start-up. The facility in Kitimat, British Columbia, is Canada’s first large-scale LNG export terminal, designed to produce 14 million tonnes of LNG a year from two processing units. Across utilities, Boil-Off Gas (BOG), and perimeter OSBL areas, our team completed major electrical and instrumentation installation activities. This included installing 1.2 million metres of cable, delivering 30,000 system check sheets and more. Find out more about the project: https://bit.ly/4oFMoYZ
Across 2025, our subject matter experts from around the world have continued to share insights shaped by real project experience, deep technical knowledge, and a commitment to doing energy better. This year’s most-read articles span the full breadth of our work — from on-the-ground perspectives in Kazakhstan, to process safety deep dives, FEED challenges, sustainable aviation fuel innovation, and the practical realities of delivering complex projects across the energy transition. With process safety, the biggest lessons aren’t always found in the headline events we all know. More often, they’re hidden in the stories nearly forgotten. In his latest thought leadership article, Senior Process Engineer Ewan Stewart shares how he conducts painstaking research into overlooked industrial incidents and brings their lessons back into today’s engineering conversations. At Kent, this level of curiosity and rigour reflects our own commitment to safety: thorough, continuous, and grounded in learning from every possible source. Is it really possible to modify a running facility safely and precisely when the engineering team is working from another part of the world? We’ve learnt that it is. Brownfield work is rarely simple. Ageing documentation, live operating environments and the need for real-time alignment add layers of complexity. But when teams are connected, information flows seamlessly, and technology works to support good engineering, distance is no longer a barrier. In her article for Energy Connects, Lakshmi Venkatesh shares how Kent’s Global Engineering Centre is reshaping what’s possible in brownfield delivery through trust, technology and a truly global way of working.
