It's a non-surgical, outpatient procedure that filters a patient's blood through an apheresis device. This process separates and removes plasma, which can contain harmful substances such as abnormal proteins or antibodies, and replaces it with a sterile albumin solution. The entire process takes just 2-4 hours. Our clients' comfort and safety are our top priorities. Each TPE procedure is managed by one of our highly experienced, apheresis-trained registered nurses who monitor the patient from start to finish. The experience is often compared to donating blood and is typically well-tolerated.
