Andrea Rocha was recently honored as the Society of Marketing Professionals (SMPS) Seattle Chapter Member of the Year. SMPS is the leading professional organization for marketing and business development in the AEC industry, and Andrea has been deeply involved with her local chapter since 2019. She serves on three SMPS committees (education, DEI, and scholarships), and recently took on additional leadership responsibilities as a board member and education committee director. “Stepping into a board member position is a transition from a behind-the-scenes role into a focused leadership position and I am excited for that journey,” Andrea says. “My goal is to build off the amazing work the committee has done so far by continuing to streamline our processes, identify speakers with messages that are meaningful and outside the box, and develop programs that are impactful to our professional growth.” SMPS recognized Andrea’s ongoing contributions with the Andy Zinsmeyer Member of the Year award at the chapter’s Reign Awards on June 12. Colleagues April Smith and Lisa Bona were on hand to celebrate with Andrea—and the award’s namesake Andy Zinsmeyer, the society’s first member, treasurer, and executive director (1976—79) made a special appearance!
