Recently, Kincentric, which provides employee engagement and HR consultancy services around the world, announced the winners of its 2021 Best Employer awards. I’m delighted to share that Elsevier was named a Best Employer in India. In selecting the awardees, Kincentric looks at how businesses are gaining a competitive edge over their competitors by being good employers. They find out what businesses do to attract, retain, motivate and engage their employees. This award is especially notable because the results are based on the opinions of those that matter most — our people. #elsevier #elseviertogether #elsevierlife #bestemployer #kincentricawards
Elsevier is one of the companies dedicated to combating climate change. Since 2020, Elsevier has been net zero for its own direct emissions (Scope 1 and 2) and business travel (part of Scope 3). Last year by joining The Climate Pledge alongside RELX, Elsevier made itself accountable to achieve net-zero carbon across all its emissions by no later than 2040, 10 years ahead of the Paris Agreement. This pledge further reinforces Elsevier’s longstanding efforts, through its parent company RELX, to address the global climate emergency through our science-based targets. Between 2010-2020 we exceeded our goal to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 location-based carbon emissions by 40% with a 64% decrease and surpassed a goal to cut energy and fuels by 30% with a 52% reduction. #elsevier #climatechange #sustainability #netzero #globalwarming

New App-Based 3-D Anatomy Model By Elsevier May Be Game-Changer for Women's Health. Most anatomy models previously used in medical training had male bodies as the default. But not all bodies are male. By centring education around that default, it affects how people are treated and how conditions are diagnosed. Elsevier is aiming to change this with the release of a new app-based, 3-D female anatomy model that has been made available for medical training. The company claims this is “the most advanced” 3-D female anatomy model to date. #health #elsevier #3D4Medical
LGBT+ History Month is celebrated every February in the UK. Across Elsevier, we recognise the great work our Pride, PROUD, sexual orientation and gender identity Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are doing to foster a culture of inclusion, safety, and respect for our LGBTQ+ colleagues. We also use this time to honour those who've made history, celebrated how far we’ve all come in advancing the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, and those who continue to join in the fight for equality and against discrimination. #ElsevierDiversity #elseviertogether #LGBTHistoryMonth #LGBTHM22 #Pride #elsevier
These Are 7 Companies with Unique Mental Health Benefits Programs. Elsevier is one of them. There’s no question that uncertain, sometimes scary times like these – with so many seemingly existential issues arriving on our national doorstep en masse – can be especially taxing on the human psyche. Employers have become increasingly aware of how precious mental health resources can be to their stressed-out employees, and how helping provide some security and understanding can do wonders for productivity and happiness. Here’s how these 7 companies including Elsevier are meeting that challenge. #mentalhealth #wellnessandwellbeing #wellbeing #Elsevier
