Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting our local employees, customers, and their families at the 52nd Annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta! This event brought together the local Akima community to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our amazing team in Albuquerque. At Akima’s viewing tent, guests had a front row seat to marvel at hundreds of balloons lifting off in the morning, and propane burners lighting up the evening horizon before a spectacular drone and fireworks show. Akima's A Mission that Matters video recently won a gold Hermes Creative Award, administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals! This narrated, animated video shares the story of how Akima's federal contracting work supports and enhances the lives of our Iñupiat shareholders and exemplifies the pride our customers and partners should feel when doing business with us. Throughout the storyline, elements of Iñupiat culture — including fishing, Alaskan wildlife, the tundra, and snowmobiling — are interwoven with representations of Akima's contracting work, such as aviation, information technology, protective services, facility logistics, and more.
