Auto Mechanic salaries in Los Angeles, CA, United States

I originally started as a mechanic apprentice but transferred locations for family reasons and ended up in the yard. I recently got my HD mechanic certificate , but there’s still no clear path to a tech role where I am now. I got offered a heavy-duty tech position at a competitor with better pay. I’m seriously considering it, but I’d feel guilty leaving since my foreman used to handle most of my workload before I arrived. I just need someone to tell me straight if this is the right move or not.

Im in my mid 40's, my body is tired from all the hard mechanical work iv'e done, and Im considering a career change! I have retail experience, and im also a musician of 35 years, and enjoy helping customers. Trucking is too demanding for what I have going on in my life, and being a mechanic has hurt my body where im beat after working all day. im jusyt having difficulty trying to come up with ideas as to what to do for a career!

So I have been a mechanic experience of 9 years and for 4 years construction equipment mechanic. I want to transition into an office job that is salary. Does anybody have any idea on what job positions i should transition into from field and shop experience into a office job
