Pros

Grocery store next door, cafe at main level and Starbucks across the way.

Cons

Notice how any warm and fuzzy about this organization is from individuals with a minimal time served before turnover and likely too young to know better that they and employees deserve better. Sadly the account detailed by others are spot-on of what it’s like being part of this organizations discontent and neglect. From an undeniable inability to forge ahead, keep up or make the simplest of decision is innately due in part to a CEO limited social aptitude, an awful management regime merely adds to the dissatisfaction throughout in what is a top-down minded structure unable to lead and should have been removed long ago. While the gifted, top end, and bottom end seem to move on or for the most part leave, the sheer nonsense within and root cause, a quasi CEO and his managers are the bigger issue. While the market has upside and potential this place is little more than the place that careers get stalled, when your business is run by a CEO who governs a business to only do things one way; his way, it yields an environment and culture of discontent, disgust but moreover constant and continuous turn-over. Even the elite top earners and bright minds all said to heck with it and moved on. The organization is like-minded managers who have little or no trust from the CEO to manage and are of the same mindset as the CEO. Sad, really... It was a marvel to most that anything ever got done when the call to action, mandate, objective, call it what you will was a constant moving target, quarterly, monthly in many cases daily. One almost needed psychic know-how to mind read what the mission was, frequently. Given the organization has no process or deadlines regardless of department oddly enough development was the worst offender, any form of get up and get it done mentality was never required. Countless time was spent reprimanding, calling out and belittling, then repeat… Some have preached misunderstanding or offered some reasoning apparently didn’t have to deal with the day-in / day-out to the nonsense. Sadly the clueless, un-informed and ill prepared aspect of the environment was in part the reason the business have lacked in ability to forge ahead. Incapable management has developed a gun-shy work force, fearful of repercussion or looking for better elsewhere. Throw an awful culture and stagnant was the common term endearment. No matter how this place conveys it’s mission it’s too far in and too far gone compared to it's competitors who've flourished and have done so with legitimacy, caliber offerings. Individuals deserve better.

Pros

- Friendly and talented co-workers

Cons

- Constant change in direction, which means many projects that get started are never completed. This becomes incredibly frustrating and de-motivating. - Management is an absolute dumpster fire. Many of the VPs have very little experience, if any, in managing employees and it shows. - Poor pay and mediocre benefits - Zero communication beween departments - No company culture - Nobody cares about helping you grow your career - Office is falling apart - Very high turnover rate - CEO has very poor leadership and social skills - The CEO is impossible to get along with and will fire you if you challenge him at all. Oh, and any ideas you have will get shot down immediately. Apparently the CEO thinks he is the smartest person on the planet and knows how to do everyone else's job better than they do. - I can't stress enough just how incompetent the CEO is.

We appreciate the honest feedback as this is not the environment we want to subject our employees (past, present, and future) to. A culture of recognition, clear communication, and transparency is something we are striving towards and although we still have a ways to go, being aware of your experience will help us get there faster. All the best with your future endeavours.

Pros

I had the fortune to work with some excellent people. The office culture was very friendly. My team worked very well together and accomplished goals and completed tasks in an efficient manner and with a great deal of quality. The office was beautiful and modern. The work/life balance was excellent. I was not required to work overtime with little to no crunch. The product is very innovative. It is genuinely an amazing and unique product with many applications. Due to the nature of the product, working on it can be very challenging but also rewarding.

Cons

Unfortunately, the company is micromanaged by the founder and president. While the founder has average technical ability and a decent eye for innovation, his leadership skills fall short. He lacks a cohesive vision and as such, the company direction shifts frequently and quickly with every whim. For instance, he may feel like opening a new satellite office is a great idea and do it only to realize 6 months later that he does not like it and closes it. Similarly, his expectations change but you will not be notified of this shift in expectations. Expect to be micromanaged. There is no room for your ideas as an employee. Think of this job as a contract position in which the client is the founder and you must do everything exactly as he requires; however, these requirements are not clear and change very rapidly (almost on a daily basis). The company has a high rate of turnover due to the above reasons as everyone learns the founder issues sooner or later. In fact, almost the entire engineering team left at the same time as I did and the same thing had happened the previous year to the previous engineering team.
