As a member of the ‘new management’ I can promise that one thing we are committed to is investing more energy into listening to the opinions of our employees – this is why we launched our Your Opinion Matters employee survey, and it’s why we’re always grateful for any feedback – such as what you have provided here. Thank you.
Though not a particularly detailed review, I would just like to take this opportunity to highlight a few of the positive differences the new management team has made. I do this not to defend against your review, but to offer more balance.
1. We introduced new perks such as your birthday off each year, the ability to buy or sell holidays and ‘beer fridge Fridays’.
2. For the vast majority of employees, we changed the mix of bonus and salary by emphasising fixed and guaranteed elements of our packages by increasing the majority of our employees’ salaries.
3. We relaxed the guidelines around our dress code policy, moving from the previous strict regime to trusting our people in a more adult way.
We have been transforming our business, and change is difficult for most of us. I’m sorry if you have been disrupted by any of the changes we have implemented - I can assure you they have been necessary.
Your advice to management is welcome and supported by me. We must do a better job of getting to know each other, so I’m glad you highlight this. The Executive Team is committed to doing this, so I hope you’ll begin to see them make more of an effort to do so.
