Honestly, my experience at this tuition centre was deeply frustrating, and I feel it’s important to share my perspective. In my opinion, the leadership here, particularly from Carean Oh, is incredibly toxic. There’s a general sense of manipulation, and I personally felt that Carean’s approach to management was more about control than actually fostering a positive, productive environment. She often came across as dismissive and inconsiderate, and I found her constant lateness for both meetings and her own classes extremely unprofessional. It was just a recurring issue, and in my view, it really sets the wrong tone for the entire workplace.
As for teaching, I was disappointed by Carean’s own approach in the classroom. In my opinion, she lacks the necessary qualifications to be teaching English at the level expected in this centre. I often felt that the information being provided to students was, at best, misguided—and at worst, simply wrong. It was hard to watch students be given incorrect guidance, and I personally felt that her teaching style didn’t inspire much confidence.
I would advise anyone considering this centre—whether for a job or as a student—to really think twice and weigh your options. There are certainly other places that prioritize professionalism and quality teaching.
