Superb benefit package, students, working in a team, school calendar, friendly coworkers
Cons
Lack of communication/transparency from administration, lack of supervision from administration, class sizes are too large for the needs and behaviors of the students to be able to effectively teach skills whether behavioral coping or daily living or academic. High stress level causes a lot of call-outs and vacancies throughout the year
You become close to coworkers- mainly because they are the only ones who will even try to help you.
Cons
Leadership is TERRIBLE. Lou ignores the school, and I would be shocked to learn if he even knew its address or location., Will, Victoria, and the rest of the admin think it is fine that multiple staff go home every day crying or physically harmed from working. The students are allowed to hurt peers and staff with no consequence, and staff are told to continue to deal with the unsafe staffing conditions and continue working even after being hurt.
Wildwood Programs Response

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry you missed seeing Lou, our CEO, when he was at school the same day of your review. While operating a large organization of many programs with nearly 60 sites, the Executive team strives to visit frequently. The HR staff for the school is also there at least weekly. Of course we are all available by email and phone if you have concerns you need assistance in addressing.
All of Wildwood leadership, including the school leaders, are acutely aware of and concerned about the stress caused by employee injuries. The needs of our students have become increasingly complex over time, and their behaviors often more challenging, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic. This concern is being addressed from all sides, including exploring changes in class sizes, curriculum and seeking outside guidance on developing new behavior modification approaches. Additionally, we are working hard to increase staffing levels. If you have concerns or suggestions, we have an open door policy - just reach out to HR or any member of the leadership or executive teams.
