Pros

Free coffee/snacks/drinks at the pantry Free product sample for staff

Cons

- Poor management and communication: inefficient and unsystematic workflow, managers are not supportive to staff, just let them on their own. No proper communication between departments. Fixated on rules and policies but not effeciency or problem solving. You can often hear colleagues arguing on different issues. - A very Chinese-style business: required staff to install Chinese app (Wechat, dingtalk) on your mobile. English is not the main language in this company.Bossy environment, need to regard the boss as an Emperor. No flexibility: need to check in on-time (strictly 9am in/6pm out)even if you need to work outside office, the check-in app requires you to turn on location and take pictures. And they are very strict to arrival time, HR keeps monitoring staff's in and out time (if there are just 2-3 minutes late, they care, if you work overtime, who care?); - Ternimate Staff without a proper reason: they can terminate staff whenever they like, no proper reasons at all All in all, I have worked in different companies in the past couple of years and I understand no company is perfect, but this company is probably my worst experience so far.

Pros

- no need to generate new idea as you just need to execute management’s ideas - English proficiency is not needed as Chinese is the main communication language (thus be prepared to translate everything into Chinese) - education background is unimportant since staff with no education background can be promoted to top management - management got low standard cause they got no knowledge - complimentary snack and beverage, some company events (which may fall on Sun)

Cons

- DO NOT resign from your current role to take this offer!!!!! They adopt a “hire and fire policy” and the turnover rate is extremely high (you can see people leaving every week), they lay off employees without warning / valid reasons - no direction or feedback from management, when there’s a problem, management thinks scolding will help solving the issue - no proper coaching or development, staff are treated as tools to execute what management wants - no privacy at all, there’re a lot of CCTVs and you can’t turn your mic off - no fairness at all, unfair terms and conditions to be signed when you’re officially on board, if you really wanna join, do ask for copies of all regulations and review it carefully before making a move - this gonna be a stain on your resume, if you take a closer look at the execution / communications, you can spot loads of low level mistakes which scare off your future employers. Don’t think you’ll able to make a change as management won’t accept suggestion but think you’re rebellious and fire you - no laptop for staff to work remotely, staff are expected to use their own laptop or desktop

Pros

The company can represent itself with its brands as if it was from Germany or Japan which these countries have better image and brand power. They can use their logistics and manufacturing network cleverly so their products are made in Thailand and Japan and Germany

Cons

1. Chinese business culture. No ability to share your point of view. Top down management style. Decisions are made without consultation or involvement from lower levels. Bottom up team is meant to follow and deliver not to have any thinking. 2. There is only one manufacturing site in China which is a risk if there is any supply disruptions. As a sales team we are always chasing for goods to be delivered in time otherwise we can not make our bonus targets. and communication all needs to be in Chinese and no English culture is used. This company is a family affair and the factory is run by a family member so be careful what you say to the factory management! 3. The senior leaders across the organisation have grown up from grass roots level. They don’t know how to use computer or even deliver a presentation. Their style is to communicate via spoken voice and messaging networks such as Wechat.
