      Management needs to focus

      Pros

      Flexible work environment, unlimited vacation, most of the people are great and try to do what they can with what they have.

      Cons

      Management has priorities that they say about a vision but they don't actually do anything aligned with that vision. They seem to decide everything behind closed doors and decide to micromanage when the wind strikes them. I know that the cofounders are also the top management but they need to let go and let the people that they hired do the jobs they were hired to do and focus on the core of the business which is actually the thing that needs the most help. Time and resources are thin, and everything is overworked and overwhelmed.

      Thanks for your comments and concerns. Currently, senior management has never been more focused. And because we are a small company with only 12 employees, all management is very visible; it’s the nature of a small company. We very much work together on the big things and the little things as a team, and the feedback management gets when we involve ourselves in any manner is always positive, so your comments come as a surprise. We’ll definitely look into this with our staff to make sure we’re not missing anything and to correct what it is that is causing you concern.       The work I do is valued.

      Pros

      Extremely talented employees, carefully chosen to excel in their roles. Everyone has a clear strength that is being leveraged, and everyone is cross-trained to some extent in one or more other roles in order to support and challenge each other to be the best. Weejee has invested in tools and templates needed to work efficiently and at a high quality. The majority of my time is spent actually producing work rather than prepping with administrative or unecessary repetitive tasks. Weejee respects the virtual work environment and harnesses its power rather than blaming its challenges. The teams are close, the live meeting time is used very productively, and communication is constant and clear.

      Cons

      We are not all local to the office, so many of us know each other only through phone and video calls. We really like each other! It would be nice to do an annual whole-group team event. Benefits are limited, being a small company. It would be nice to have a few more options as the company grows.
